Spring announces its latest show AROUND THE FLAT to open in conjunction with the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF). This exhibit showcases a group of international talent working in the intersection of contemporary art and design.

AROUND THE FLAT describes both formal space and a living space. The selected artists and designers interpret two-dimensional and three-dimensional spaces in unique, often witty ways that open up hidden and forgotten spaces to the viewer. From a flock of origami birds to the snap-out instant office of FUWL's Bendable Interior Objects, these works highlight this tension through the use of light and shadow, surface and volume.

Featured in this exhibition are the works of Lindsey Adelman, Cecile Belmont, Elodie Blanchard, Melissa Borrell, Stephanie Coudert, Form Us With Love (FUWL), Ron Gilad, Miwa Koizumi, Alissia Melka-Teichroew, Eva Menz, Hiroko Takeda, and Two Create.

AROUND THE FLAT was curated by Spring working with Elodie Blanchard, a talented young designer from France who works with architectural firms on site-specific projects.

The show will also feature Assignment #8 - (k[^o]rk) This assignment has been particularly addressed to architects and designers. Assignment #8 is a teaser and a creative exercise based on the material cork and it asks to interpret AROUND THE FLAT using at least 6 out of the 9 tiles supplied to create an object, a shape, a volume or a narrative. It encourages to slice, dice, twist, shape, fold tear, roll or paint.
